EWPR, Kennewick, WA.
The huge window in the front is
dedicated to many of the parrots that we have here at the Kennewick
Facility. During the summers, we allow the birds to be outside on
their stands or cages for the fresh air and wonderful warmth of the sun.
On the hotter days EWPR has the
birds inside their outside cages that have misters, toys and a tarp to keep them cool and
happy. |

From June 2nd through June 8th, 2008 EWPR was
honored to have Kelli, from Pasco High School, volunteer her time (12
hours) for a school project assignment. She was very helpful with
feeding, watering, cleaning cages and spending quality time with the
birds. She was excellent with following directions but not as
careful as she could have been with one of our birds. She was
initiated into the Parrot Rescue World with a nip on the finger from a
Goffin's Cockatoo that actually drew blood. This shocked her but
didn't keep her from returning to the birds and spending more time with
them.
